ISO 9001 QA is an International Standard for quality assurance and is currently one of the main systems required for tendering national, state and local government projects. This system has a two stage process. The first stage is to have the system implemented, documented and operating within your company. The second stage if seeking certification involves having it audited by "third party auditors" to ensure it meets the necessary requirements.
