AS 4801 OHS is the Australian Standard for occupational health and safety and is currently one of the main system requirements for national, sate and local government projects. This system has a two stage process. The first stage is to have the system implemented, documented and operating within your company. The second stage if seeking certification involves having it audited by "third party auditors" to ensure it meets the necessary requirements.
